In contrast, the wide nickel-iron alloy has better mechanical properties and plays an important role in various fields of national defense industry and national economy. It is a very important new material in the national defense industry, and gradually extended to all kinds of civil industries.

What is Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip?

Heavy tungsten alloy is a kind of tungsten base alloy material (tungsten content is generally 80%~98%), which contains a small amount of Ni, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, Cr and other elements. The density of high specific gravity tungsten alloy is up to 15.20~18.70g/cm3, also known as high specific gravity tungsten alloy or high density alloy material. Because tungsten alloys weigh more than twice as much as steel.

The common method for preparing heavy tungsten alloys is to mix the desired amount of tungsten, iron, nickel or copper powder and then cold press and liquid phase sintering to near full density. During the liquid phase treatment, the base tungsten alloy melts and part of the tungsten enters the solution, forming large tungsten particles (20-60μm) microstructure.

1. Rivet head materials for electric rivets

The use of high specific gravity tungsten alloy as rivet head material, its service life than other materials made of rivet head several times to 100 times. It can also be used as welding nozzle material in spot welding machine.

2. Contact material

In some high current and high voltage switches, the use of high gravity tungsten alloy as the contact material, can resist electrical corrosion and oxidation. It will be widely used in ultra-high voltage technology
